Odisha engineering student blackmails girl with obscene pics, held

Bhubaneswar: The Twin City Commissionerate Police today arrested an engineering student for allegedly blackmailing a girl with her obscene photos.

According to reports, Debi Prasad Pati, the accused, was in a relationship with the girl and had clicked some obscene photos of the victim during the period. Later, he started extorting money from the girl by threatening her to upload the photos on social media.

The girl had given jewelleries of her family members to the accused. The entire episode came to fore after her parents found the valuables missing.

Acting on a complaint lodged by them, police apprehended the engineering student. Cops have seized Rs 10,000 and jewelleries worth lakhs from his possession.
