Odisha EOW arrests man for duping servicemen of Rs 35 cr

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Odisha crime branch today arrested the managing director of real estate company M/s Brookson Infrastructure Private Limited from his office in the city on charges of duping crores of rupees from customers.

The accused was identified as Purna Chandra Panda.

EOW Crime Branch Superintendent of Police Rajendra Patnaik informed that the accused Panda had duped Rs 35 crore from defence personnel in the city promising them to provide land in Khordha district.

The accused had opened an office in Chandrasekharpur area here and collected the money from the defence personnel through a scheme ‘Sainik Welfare Organisation India’. But he neither  provided land to his 544 customers nor returned their deposited money.

Failing to get the land, a complaint was lodged by investors at the EOW acting on which the CB officials arrested Panda today.
