The culprit, identified as Abhimanyu Jena (48) years from Kumbharpada village under Gopinathpur of Puri District, was arrested yesterday in connection with EOW PS case no-28 dated December 23, 2014.
Investigation of the case revealed that the accused Jena and others fraudulently executed a registered sale deed in the office of the sub-registrar of Puri on July 25, 2012 to acquire a valuable piece of land measuring 36 decimals from Ramachandra Brahmachari who died on April 10, 2004.
EOW started investigating the case as per the request of the Inspector General of Registration, Cuttack and managed to gather evidence that the documents were forged to take away the valuable land from its rightful owner.
