Bhubaneswar, Aug 30:

While more than 13,000 technical and management students have already registered for the four–day special recruitment drive scheduled to be held from September 17, the Odisha government is yet to clear the air over participation of private colleges and universities not affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT).

However, the officials maintained that the job fair is organised exclusively for those who have passed out of institutes and colleges affiliated to the BPUT as well as colleges and universities which are accepting Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) qualified students for admission.

“Since the private institutes including deemed universities like KIIT and SOA do not come under the BPUT and are not taking OJEE students during admission in technical and management courses, theur graduates would not be eligible to participate in the job fair,” said an official of Employment and Technical Education and Training (ET&T) department.

He, however, said that everything would depend on the departmental minister who would take the final call on whether the graduates of institutions not affiliated to the BPUT can participate in the job fair or not.

Sources said Odisha pass-outs in B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Pharma, M.Pharma, MCA & MBA starting from passing year 2000 and having no backlog can register for the recruitment drive.

The registration process would continue till September 10 and the applicants can register their names and other details by logging in to http://cpcdtet.nic.in/Nijukti.aspx.

Those aspiring to take part in the proposed recruitment drive will have to pay Rs 100 each oline for registration.

Meanwhile, over 13,000 job aspirants have already registered their names to take part in the job fair. Out of this, the registration of B Tech passed out students has crossed 11,000 on the third day, departmental sources said.
