Odisha extends KALIA scheme till 2026-27 fiscal; beneficiaries to get Rs 2,000 as one-time aid

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has allocated Rs 6029.70 crore for implementation of KALIA scheme in the state till 2026-27 fiscal.

The state Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved a proposal in this regard.

The state Cabinet has approved an estimated budget of Rs 6029.70 crore for three years (2024-25 fiscal to 2026-27 fiscal) for the implementation of Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme in the state, said Chief Secretary PK Jena soon after the Cabinet meeting.

The state government had introduced the KALIA scheme in 2018-19 fiscal to provide financial assistance to farmers for development of farm sector in Odisha.

The state government is now providing financial aid of Rs 12,500 in three installments to the eligible farmers in Odisha in a year.

The state Cabinet today approved a proposal to provide Rs 2,000 as one-time additional support/assistance to the farmers, said the Chief Secretary.

This apart, the state Cabinet approved a proposal to advance the release dates of financial aids under the scheme.

Earlier, the state government was providing KALIA assistance for Kharif season from April 1 and for Rabi season from September 1.
