Odisha Fights Corona: CM inaugurates plasma bank in Koraput

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a plasma bank at the SLN Medical College and Hospital in Koraput district through a videoconferencing here today for COVID-19 treatment.

“Plasma therapy was introduced in Odisha just six weeks ago as a possible curative and healing therapy in our fight against COVID-19. In continuation to our humble efforts in the service of the people, today we will see the sixth plasma bank of the state open in Koraput,” the CM said on the occasion.

“I am informed that more than 400 patients have been transfused with plasma and it has shown good results in 320 of them,” Patnaik added.

He also congratulated a COVID-19 recovered person who donated his plasma and became the first donor at the plasma bank.
