Odisha film industry body lifts ban on actor Manoj Mishra

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Film Producers and Distributors Guild has withdrawn the two-year ban on actor Manoj Mishra.

“We have withdrawn the ban on actor Manoj Mishra. We are not bound to abide by any announcement made by any person in the film industry over their personal differences,” said Arun Mohanty, the general secretary of the guild today.

The Odia film industry body had earlier announced that it would boycott Mishra over a dispute regarding the screening of two movies during this year’s Dussehra.

Notably, Mishra’s movie ‘Mindgame’ clashed with actor Arindam Roy’s movie ‘Ram’ during the festival.

There were allegations that supporters of Mishra had obstructed the screening of movie ‘Ram’ at Sambalpur and a few other places in the Western Odisha over some issues.

Subsequently, the film industry body had imposed two-year ban on Mishra. The issue created a lot of hue and cry in the state with some political leaders coming out openly in support of one side or the other in the dispute.
