Bhubaneswar: A diamond ring worth around Rs 40 lakh of a film producer was reportedly stolen during his trip to Gupteswar in Koraput district of Odisha recently.
Boipariguda police have detained two persons after film producer K. Tamanna of Bargarh lodged a complaint in this regard, sources said.
According to sources, the film produced had visited Gupteswar some days ago to identify possible locations for picturization of a movie on tribal culture.
One Jugal Kishore Bhatra, who was working as spot boy for last few months, had accompanied the film producer.
“The film producer had kept the diamond ring along with two other rings in a bag while searching for possible locations for shooting of his movie. Later, he found that someone had stolen the diamond ring from the bag,” said the complaint.
The film producer later lodged a complaint in this regard with police, sources said.
The police detained Bhatra and Prafulla Kumar Sahu, a driver, for questioning after registering a theft case.
