Odisha: Firearm found in student’s school bag during classes in Balasore!

Bahanaga: A firearm was allegedly found today in the bag of a Class X student at Bishnupur high school under Bahanaga block in Balasore district when the classes were going on.

According to a police source, a subject teacher taking the class noticed something unusual. The student was absent-minded and was frequently looking at his school bag and verifying an object kept in it by putting his hands into it times and again. Suspecting something unusual, the teacher went near the student and found a firearm-like object in the bag. This was informed to headmaster Sapan Kumar Dey.

The incident created panic among other students, teachers and school staff as well.

Later, headmaster Dey asked the student’s parents to come to the school and warned them. Dey went to Gopalpur police station to hand over the firearm to the cops. However, after thorough verification, it was ascertained that the firearm was a China-made toy gun, the policeman asserted.

After the police confirmed that it was a toy gun, the panic was over.
