Odisha float wins first prize at ‘India Day Parade’ in California

Bhubaneswar: In a matter of pride for Odisha, a float representing the state won the first prize at the Fog India Day Parade held on August 19 in Fremont city, California.
The float featured promotion of the Men’s Hockey World Cup scheduled to be held in Odisha’s capital city Bhubaneswar in November. It also depicted the rich cultural heritage of the state.
Worth mentioning, the Odisha float won the prize for the third time in a row.
The Fog India Day Parade celebrates Independence Day of world’s largest democracy India in the United States of America, the oldest democracy of the world. It began in 1993 and now in its 26th year. India Day has morphed into a week-long festival, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of various states in the foreign land. Besides the parade, a dance competition, a film festival and free two-day fair with food, a spotlight on wellness add to the extravaganza.
