Odisha: Former Chitrakonda MLA Dambaru Sisa quits BJD

Mathili: Dambaru Sisa, a Bonda tribal youth leader and former legislator from Chitrakonda of Malkangiri district, resigned from the primary membership of Biju Janata Dal (BJD), today. Youth leader Dambaru was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly in 2014 on a BJD ticket.

The former MLA sent his resignation to the party supremo Naveen Patnaik.

Dambaru was allegedly neglected in the 2019 General Elections and was not given a ticket to contest. He would make a fresh beginning soon, the tribal leader mentioned in his letter. He was an aspirant for the ticket from BJD for the 2024 General Elections.

Dambaru had been a primary member of BJD for the last 16 years. He believed that he was unable to serve the people of Odisha and the people of his constituency anymore within this party. “It is time for me to move on,” he wrote in his resignation letter.

It is pertinent to mention here that at the age of 33, Dambaru became the 10th Member of the Legislative Assembly from Chitrakonda constituency segment. He is the first Bonda MLA in Odisha.
