Bhubaneswar: BJP leader Nibedita Pradhan, a former mayor of Odisha’s Cuttack city, breathed her last today.

Pradhan (60), who had been elected to Odisha Assembly from Cuttack Sadar segment once, breathed her last while being treated for some illness at a private hospital in the Silver City in the afternoon.

BJP Odisha unit president Manmohan Samal, Leader of Opposition in Odisha Assembly Jay Narayan Mishra and party’s national vice-president Baijayanta Panda among others condoled the death of Pradhan.

“Pradhan was an active leader of BJP. She was also very much popular in Cuttack. Her death is an irreparable loss to the party,” said Samal while paying tributes to the departed soul.
