Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance today found Rohit Kumar Parida, former GM of Tribal Development Cooperative Corporation Limited (TDCCOL), in possession of unaccounted cash of Rs 5.54 lakh.

According to reports, Parida was about to board a Bhubaneswar-bound bus at Chandragiri around 12.30 am, during which the officers of the anti-corruption agency intercepted him.

He was then found carrying the amount with him and could not account for the cash satisfactorily.

Subsequently, the Vigilance officers recovered the amount from him and seized it.

Following the interception, simultaneous searches were being carried out at three locations related to Parida over suspicion of possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

He was being questioned over the source of the cash.

Parida is currently working on post-retirement re-engagement (contractual) basis.
