Odisha: Former Mayurbhanj MP Laxman Tudu joins JMM

Bhubaneswar: Former Mayurbhanj MP Laxman Tudu, who had resigned from Biju Janata Dal (BJD) yesterday, joined the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) today.

This was announced during the JMM’s Central Committee meeting held at Ranchi this afternoon.

Tudu, a senior political leader and was BJD’s tribal face in Mayurbhanj, was welcomed to the party by JMM Chief and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Sibu Soren.

Tudu, after sending his resignation letter to BJD President Naveen Patnaik, told the media that some insignificant leaders are now calling the shots in BJD and Naveen is not paying heed to it.

Worth mentioning, Tudu was denied a party ticket in the last Lok Sabha elections in 2014 as the party leadership preferred the sitting MLA Ramchandra Hansda.

Tudu had won the Lok Sabha polls from Mayurbhanj in 2009.
