Odisha: Ganja seized from Bhubaneswar railway station again; 1 held

Bhubaneswar: A large quantity of ganja was seized once again at the Bhubaneswar railway station today evening. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel seized a total of 12.2 kg ganja during smuggling at the railway station and arrested a person.

As per reports, the person, identified as Rabibur Alam from West Bengal was planning to smuggle the contraband item to outside the State in Yashovantpur-Howrah Duronto Express. Suspecting Alam’s movements at the Bhubaneswar railway station while waiting for the train, the RPF personnel searched his belongings and seized ganja.

Upon questioning, Alam revealed he brought ganja from Koraput to Bhubaneswar by bus. He was then supposed to smuggle the contraband item from Bhubaneswar to Rampur in Kolkata via train.

So far this month, the RPF arrested nine persons from outside the State for allegedly smuggling ganja.
