Odisha: Ganja worth over Rs 1 crore seized; 1 arrested

Jeypore: In a crackdown on ganja smuggling, Koraput police seized cannabis worth around Rs 1.25 crore following two separate raids late last night.

The cops arrested one person in this connection.

During night patrolling, the Lamptaput police intercepted a truck and seized cannabis weighing 1036 kg worth around Rs 1 crore from the vehicle. Seeing the cops, the smugglers managed to flee. Police seized the vehicle and began an inquiry in this connection.

Sources said the cannabis were being smuggled to Bihar.

In a separate incident, the Padua police seized ganja worth Rs 25 lakh and arrested one Ashwini Mohanta of Rourkela.
