Odisha: Ganjam bus tragedy death toll rises to 10

Cuttack: The death toll in Ganjam bus tragedy rose to 10 as one more injured person succumbed while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack today evening. The deceased was identified as U. Debraj Reddy (11).

Debraj was initially rushed to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition from the mishap site at Mendarajpur square in Ganjam district. But when his condition deteriorated, Debraj was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Earlier in the day, nine persons were electrocuted to death and over 25 injured after a moving bus came in contact with a live electric wire at Mendarajpur. The passengers were on their way to attend an engagement ceremony when the bus came in contact with an 11 KV power transmission line.

The other deceased were identified as B. Taraneya, K. Sanju, B. Kankamma, Santoshi Sahu, B. Rameya, B. Achulu, CH Kamaraju, B. Tarini and B. Mohini.
