Odisha to get more rainfall from Friday, says agromet expert

Rainfall activity is likely to increase across Odisha from 19 September, Dr SN Pasupalak head of the Agrometeorology, Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT) said today in his advisory to farmers.

Dr Pasupalak said the Low Pressure Area present today on west-central Bay will move north ward, reaching north Bay around the evening of September 19.

According to him there would be isolated rainfall over north and central coast and moderate to heavy over south Odisha while scattered to low over the rest parts on September 18.
On September 19 the rainfall activity would increase with rainfall at many places in
undivided Koraput which will receive moderate to isolated heavy rainfall. However, it will be minimal in the coastal and other part, he said.

From 20 September the rainfall will further increase over most places in Odisha and it will be heavy at a few places.There would be rainfall at many places in the state and most places in south with isolated heavy rainfall at a few places on September 21 and decrease thereafter, Dr Pasupalak said.
