New Delhi: Odisha received a pat on its back from the Centre today for its performance in inoculating significant number of health care workers (HCWs) to fight against Covid-19 virus since the vaccination drive has been launched across the country.
Secretary of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Rajesh Bhushan informed during a media briefing at National Media Centre, New Delhi that Odisha has ranked second among the States and Union Territories in terms of vaccination coverage of registered health care workers.
“Odisha is one of the biggest states. It has more HCWs so as the challenges, but despite this, the state’s coverage is remarkable,” added the MoHF&W Secretary. The State vaccinated 50.7% of registered health care workers in last 13 days.

Lakshadweep was the top performer as it vaccinated 83.4% of its health care workers since January 16, the date when the country-wide vaccination drive was launched.
