Odisha gets respite from intense cold conditions

Bhubaneswar: More than a week after Odisha reeled under intense cold, the conditions improved in many districts with a slight increase in temperature in the past two days.

As the mercury rose by 1 or two degree Celsius, the cold conditions reduced across the state. Similar conditions will continue till January 21, Bhubaneswar MeT predicted.

While the minimum temperature will be 10 degree Celsius in Phulbani, other districts will also get respite from the cold conditions, it said.

However, the dense fog will continue in next two days especially in coastal Odisha as compared to interior parts of the state.

During the past 24 hours, only Phulbani and Sundergarh recorded below 10 degree Celsius with the minimum temperature 7.5 degree Celsius and 9 degree Celsius respectively.

The minimum temperature in Hirakud was 10.1 degree Celsius, Keonjhar 10.2 degree Celsius, Balangir 10.5 degree Celsius, Angul and Daringbadi 11 degree Celsius, Sonepur 11.6 degree Celsius, Sambalpur 11.7 degree Celsius, Baripada and Jharsuguda 11.5 degree Celsius, Balasore 11.7 degree Celsius, Bhawanipatna and Dhenkanal 12 degree Celsius, Cuttack 12.5 degree Celsius and Bhubaneswar 12.9 degree Celsius on Sunday night.
