Odisha girl Ananya Nanda reaches Top-6 of Indian Idol Jr

The golden run of Ananya Sritam Nanda of Odisha continues in the popular musical reality show ‘Indian Idol Junior Season-2’. The Bhubaneswar girl has now reached the Top-6 in the highly competitive show being aired on Sony TV.

The contestants of the program are ranked based on votes cast by the viewers. The lower ranking contestants are eliminated as the show progresses.

The voting process that commenced on July 4, 2015 is taking place through digital mediums. To vote for Ananya, the audience needs to download Sony LIV app and vote. Alternatively, they can also log onto Sony LIV website or simply SMS IDOL ANA and send it to 5252525. The voting lines are open till 8 AM of Aug 23.

After the gigantic success of Prince Dance Group in India’s Got Talent, Rajasmita Kar in Dance India Dance and Rituraj Mohanty in India’s Raw Star, Ananya reaching Top-6 has brought cheers in Odisha. Her schoolmates and teachers can’t just stop talking about her.

“The kid is really talented and has an uncanny eye for detail. She always pays close attention to things I taught and picked them up really well in a short time. She has just entered the Top-6 and I am upbeat about her winning the reality show,” said her music teacher back in Odisha.

The teen starlet also has her own fan page ( https://www.facebook.com/AnanyaSritamNanda ) where almost 20,000 fans ‘like’ her and she keeps them posted about her performances. Many of her fans take to the page to wish her.

It may be noted that the second season of Indian Idol Junior commenced from May 30, 2015 on Sony TV. The season is being aired at 8.30 pm on Saturday and Sunday nights. The series is mainly meant for kids aged between five to fifteen years.

The show hosted by Hussain Kuwajerwala and co-hosted by Asha Negi, is being judged by Hindi movie actress Sonakshi Sinha along with Vishal Dadlani, Shalmali Kholgade and Salim Merchant. The winner of the show will receive a cash prize of Rs. 25 lakh from Sony Entertainment Television and other prizes from sponsors of the show.
