Odisha girl set on fire by spurned lover dies
Koraput: A girl student of a private engineering college in Semiliguda area of Odisha’s Koraput district, who was allegedly set on fire by a youth, died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar today.
She had sustained 50 per cent burn injuries after accused Gopinath Khora, who had one-sided love affair with the girl, set her ablaze on May 31.

The accused had proposed the girl multiple times in the recent past while she had rejected Gopinath’s proposal.
On the fateful day, the youth barged into the house of the girl, poured petrol on her and set her on fire.
The victim was initially admitted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur and later shifted to Bhubaneswar, where she succumbed to her injuries.
