Odisha: Gold worth over Rs 50 lakh seized in Bhubaneswar airport

Bhubaneswar: Officials of Air Customs have thwarted an attempt to smuggle gold through Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar and seized 13 grams of gold from a passenger. They have also detained the man for interrogation.

Acting on reliable information, the Air Customs officials intercepted one passenger of Indian origin, hailing from Kozhikode, Kerala, who arrived from Kuala Lumpur by Air Asia flight no AK-31 at around 9.45 pm last night.

During a search, gold weighing 1310.65 grams valued at Rs 52.02 lakh was seized from the passenger.
