Odisha Government gives nod to 17 proposals in Cabinet meet

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has given its approval to as many as 17 proposals from 12 departments in the 52nd Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday.

Among the approved polices and decisions are the following:

1.) Odisha Apparel and Technical Textiles Policy – 2022 to boost employment and economic growth, facilitate ancillary and back end support to industries, online transfer of incentives to beneficiaries in a transparent manner which include capital cost, market development and employment cost.

2.) Odisha Tourism Policy 2022 that aims to make tourism and hospitality sector attractive for investors. The policy promotes sustainable and responsible tourism, and focuses on accelerated development of tourism sector.

3.) Assessment of physical fitness for appointment to various  Categories B and C posts.

4.) Decision to make Daman movie tax free

5.) Exams for Junior Stenographer, Junior Typist, Data Entry Operator and Junior clerks

6.) Budget of Rs 294.10 crore towards policy for post harvest processing of farmers’ produce to augment their income with better marketing facilities

7.) Export Promotion Policy 2022 to take Odisha to the league of top 5 exporting states, achieve an export target of ₹3.5 lakh Cr by 2026-27. It advocates diversification of Odisha’s export basket by facilitating value addition.

8.) Odisha Logistics Policy 2022 to create integrated logistics system to enhance competitiveness, operational efficiency and sustainability. It aims  to strengthen State’s position as preferred destination for trade and commerce.

9.) Industrial Policy Resolution (IPR) 2022 for next 5 years. This policy aims to transform Odisha into “Industrial Hub of Eastern India” by promoting industries in the thrust and priority sectors of the state. 

10.) Odisha Civil Aviation Policy 2022 to further improve air connectivity & create more suitable environment for businesses. The policy applicable for 5 years will unlock untapped potential in the sector and create jobs.

11.) Registered vehicle scrapping facility policy 2022 for 15-years old vehicles to curb environment pollution.
