Odisha Governor, CM Naveen condole demise of music maestro Amarendra Mohanty

Bhubaneswar: Following sad demise of renowned music director and singer Amarendra Mohanty, Odisha Governor Professor Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid condolences to his bereaved family.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed his grief over early departure of the music maestro in Odia.

He said that the marks he has left in hymns and film industries through his unique style of music composition will always remain memorable.

Condoling death of the noted music director, Congress leader and Cuttack MLA Mohammed Moquim wrote:

Amarendra Mohanty passed away today morning while undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. He breathed his last at age of 63.

Popularly known as ‘Bulu’ in Ollywood, Amarendra had begun his career in music from Akashvani. He made debut in Odia film ‘Shradhanjali’ as the singer. Later, he directed many songs in films including ‘Suna Panjuri’, ‘Bhai Hela Bhagari’, ‘Basudha’, ‘Anti Chhuri Tanti Kate’, ‘Singhabahini’, ‘Pabitra Bandhan’, ‘Hey Sakha’, ‘Prema Alaga Prakar’ and ‘Ranga Barasiba Tupuru Tapuru’.
