Odisha Govt allocated budget of over Rs 183 Crore for Biju Yuva Vahini in two years

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government had allocated a total budget of Rs 183,67,39,340 for Biju Yuva Vahini in two years. Rs 159,89,87,096 was allocated in the FY 2018-19 and Rs 23,77,52,244 in the FY 2019-20, Sports and Youth Services Minister Tusharkanti Behera informed today.

The Biju Yuva Vahini was started as a government programme in the State, which was implemented in FY 2018-19. It was intended to use the youth force to create awareness among people about the purpose of various welfare schemes and voluntary initiatives of the government, the Minister said this replying to an unstarred query of senior Congress leader and Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati on the Floor of Odisha Assembly during its Monsoon Session.

Notably, as no budgetary provision was made in the FY 2020-21 and thereafter, the government has not carried out any programme through the Biju Yuva Vahini, the Minister clarified.
