Bhubaneswar, May 28:

Making it loud and clear that it has no understanding with the BJD to get its support in the Upper house in exchange for a slow down in the ongoing CBI probe into the chit fund scam, the BJP today dubbed the BJD government in Odisha as anti-poor, anti-farmer and inefficient.

The BJP’s Odisha in-charge Arun Singh today told reporters here: “Naveen Patnaik government here has failed on all fronts. It’s inefficient; its policies are anti-poor and anti-farmer. There is no question of our party having an understanding with the BJD.”

“If bills like the one on land acquisition are passed, the states will benefit considerably. The BJP has sought the cooperation of all political parties on certain issues and bills in the Rajya Sabha including the BJD,” said Singh.

Singh said the CBI was an independent agency and it was probing the chit fund scam in Odisha without any interference and added that the BJD government was marked by scams and scandals

Responding to allegations that the CBI probe into the chit fund scam had slowed down, Singh said: “We strongly believe that all those who looted hard-earned money of poor people through the chit fund scam in Odisha as well as in West Bengal, will be booked.”

“What can be more shameful than the fact that the state government, despite being in power for 15 years now, has not been able to provide drinking water to the people of the state?” the BJP leader asked.

The ruling party responded in kind with spokesperson Pratap Keshari Deb saying; “The BJP must first decide what they should do. In the last five days, five different leaders have said five different things. They must respect the verdict of the people, who have elected the BJD for four consecutive terms,” Deb said.
