Odisha govt appoints new Collector for Jajpur

Bhubaneswar: The state government today appointed a new collector for Jajpur district in Odisha.

Nikhil Pavan Kalyan, a 2012-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the Collector and District Magistrate for Jajpur.

“In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 20 (1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973 (Act II of 1974), the state government do hereby appoint Nikhil Pavan Kalyan, IAS as the District Magistrate in Jajpur,” said a notification issued by the General Administration department today.

The IAS officer was earlier working as the Director, Rural Development in the state.

Notably, Nikhil Pavan Kalyan was working as the Commissioner of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) prior to his transfer as the Director, Rural Development in Odisha.
