Odisha govt approves school for children of Srimandir servitors

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has approved Shree Mandir Adarsh Gurukulam project (model school for children of servitors of Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri).

The school will be constructed at Matitota in Puri over an area of 15 acres, for which the state government has allocated Rs 25 crore under the ABADHA scheme.

“I am directed to inform you that the Government has been pleased to accord approval for designing and construction of the project ‘Shree mandir Adarsh Gurukulam’ at Matitota, Puri to O.B. & C.C. Ltd. under ABADHA scheme,” wrote Works Department’s Joint Secretary Bimalendu Ray in a letter to managing director of O.B. & C.C. Ltd.

The official has requested the managing director to take necessary follow up action in consultation with Shree Jagannath Temple Administration for timely completion of the project.

Worth mentioning, the Supreme Court while hearing a case pertaining to Srimandir reforms had recommended the Odisha Government to construct a school for the children of the temple servitors.
