Reviewing fire safety system at a meeting held at State Secretariat yesterday, Odisha Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi directed to complete fire safety work in sub-divisional hospitals by end of April this year.

According to reports, audit has been conducted at 1,000 state-run health institutions so far.

The officials at the review meeting discussed about fire safety measures in private hospitals, theatres, cinema halls and malls. They decided to prepare a simple guideline by combining the rules including permission to real estate projects and monitoring.

Padhi suggested the Home department to prepare the guideline by end of April.
