Bhubaneswar: The Revenue & Disaster Management department today declared that all government offices, revenue and magisterial courts (Executive) in Odisha shall remain closed on July 8 (Monday) i.e. the day following Rath Yatra, a notification issued in this regard mentioned.

Similarly, the Government declared a holiday on July 8 for the banks and other banking institutions in the State on the occasion of Rath Yatra. This announcement was made under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 (Central Act XXVI of 1881), read with the Notification of Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs (No-20-25-56-Public-l, dated the 8th June, 1957).
