Bhubaneswar: Doctors serving under the Health Department of the Odisha Government would be granted leave for higher studies.
A clarification in this regard was issued by Health Department Secretary Shalini Pandit after taking into consideration the grievances of medical students.
"A maximum period of six years of study leave would be allowed subject to other conditions of absence from duty. The period of study leave would also be counted towards promotion," the department said in a statement.
"Doctors pursuing PG or post-PG would be entitled to get their salary during study leave. Their salary would be drawn from their respective places of last posting," the statement added.
