Odisha govt gives Rs 10 lakh cash award to blind cricketer

Chief minister Naveen Patnaik today gave a cash award of Rs 10 lakh to Mohd Jafar Iqbal of Odisha for representing the Indian team that won in the 4^th One Day World Cup Cricket for the Blind at Cape Town in South Africa earlier this year.

Felicitating Jafar at the State Secretariat here, Patnaik wished him to bring more medals for his state and the country in future.

Among others, Sports and Youth Affairs minister Sudam Marandi, secretary of the department Saswat Mishra and officials of the concerned department were present on the occasion.
