Odisha govt grants Rs 5 cr each for these two districts for COVID management

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today sanctioned Rs 5 crore each to Jajpur and Sundargarh districts for COVID-19 management.

After a review meeting through video conference, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said the allocation to the two districts will be borne from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).

A plasma bank will be set up in IGH, Rourkela to supply to various districts in Western Odisha, he said.

The Sundargarh district has already spent Rs 20 crore from DMF for Covid Management. Further, Rs 15 crore will be spent in the next three months for strengthening of the dedicated Covid Hospital and Covid Care centres.

The Covid Care Centre in Rourkela will be expanded from 700 beds to 1700 beds capacity.

The Sundargarh district administration is working closely with corporates like RSP, NTPC, MCL, and OCL etc to create Covid Care Homes and Covid Care Centres.

The Chief Minister further informed Jajpur district will spend Rs 13.5 crore from DMF to enhance the Covid Care system to fight the pandemic. He added additional 250 beds will be operationalised in the Covid Care Centre in Jajpur.
