Odisha govt hikes college seats in ULBs, corporations by 20%

Bhubaneswar, Aug 13:

The Odisha government today decided to increase the number of seats in +2 and +3 colleges in the urban local bodies (ULBs) and corporation localities by 20 percent from the current academic session.

A proposal to this effect moved by the Higher Education department was approved by chief minister Naveen Patnaik today.

However, there will be no increase in the seats under self-financing courses.

Besides, there will be 10 percent increase in the government colleges in these localities having 256 seats and above.

It may be mentioned that the state government had earlier increased the number of college seats in the block and NAC localities by 20 percent.
