Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today announced to pay a 5% enhanced dearness allowance to its employees with retrospective effect from July 1, 2019.

In an office order, Finance Secretary AKK Meena stated the government is releasing additional dose of DA at the rate of 5% enhancing the existing rate from 12% to 17% on the basic pay with effect from 01.7.2019 in favour of state government employees, covered under the ORSP Rules, 2017.

“The additional dose of DA from 01.7.2019 to 31.12.2019 will be paid in cash. The last date for presentation of bill towards drawal of arrear claims in respect of DA @5% from 01.7.2019 in the Treasures Special Treasures Sub-Treasures in the current financial year is 26.3.2020,” the office order mentioned.

The office order further read all-India service officers serving in the affairs of the State government for which GA & PG Department will issue orders separately. Work-charged employees drawing in regular scale of pay under the ORSP Rules, 2017 are also eligible to get the increased DA.

Teaching and non-teaching staff of fully aided non-government educational institutions those are covered under ORSP Rules, 2017 and the teaching and non-teaching staff of Universities who are in receipt of regular scale of pay under ORSP Rules, 2017 for whom the State government is bearing full salary cost will get the hiked DA. These also include teachers of Universities who enjoy AICTE/UGC scale under ORSP (College Teachers Rules, 2019), the letter stated.

“The DA in accordance with this memorandum will also be admissible to the State government employees who were in service on 01.7.2019, but have ceased to be in service at the time of sanction of DA as per the revised scale of pay,” the order said.
