Bhubaneswar, Nov 8:

Acting tough, the Odisha government today served notices to absentee doctors.

The Health and Family Welfare department today served notices to 120 doctors who have remained absent for a long period of time from their places of posting.

These doctors who have allegedly remained absent for two years have been asked to report to duty within 15 days or otherwise face disciplinary action.

It may be noted here that in November last year, the state government had 408 doctors from their services for remaining incommunicado despite several reminders.

These doctors were dismissed on grounds of remaining absent from their places of posting for long periods without necessary permission/approval.
