Odisha govt offices to work with 50% staff in twin city

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today asked its offices in twin city to work with half of their strength of employees in September. Also, the government ordered closure of its offices across the State on Saturdays.

In an order, the General Administration and Public Grievance department asked all departments and sub-ordinate offices in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack to function with 50% strength of employees (including Group A officers) during the month of September and ensure that the office work does not suffer.

However, the essential offices/services such as SRC and OSDMA offices, police, fire services, health services, municipal services, etc shall function in full strength, the order added.

“All state government offices throughout the State will remain closed on Saturdays,” the order added.
The Departments/ Head of Offices in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack have been asked to decide the manner of selection of employees who will attend office.

All precautionary measures to curtail spread of COVID-19 shall be strictly followed by the Departments as well as the employees. In case of detection of any COVID case among the office employees, the concerned office will follow the protocol, the order stated.

The officers/staff who have been provided with VPN shall work from home, when not assigned roster duty. They must be available to attend any office work of urgent nature, at short notice and be available on telephone at all times, it mentioned

Administrative departments have been asked to decide about the scale of operations in subordinate and field offices.
