Odisha govt official arrested on attempt to rape charge

Police today arrested a senior clerk of the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) office here on charges of attempting to rape a female colleague of the same office.

Senior clerk Saroj Padhi was today arrested by Keonjhar Town police, reports said.

Allegedly, Padhi had called the victim, a female attendant to the office on December 24 and had made obscene gestures at her while attempting to rape her, reports added.

The victim had complained to the CDMO and had also lodged a complaint with the Keonjhar Town police in this regard.
