Odisha govt promotes 12 IPS officers

The Odisha government today promoted 12 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. These IPS officers of 1991, 1998, 2002 and 2003 batches have been given in situ promotions, said official sources.

While 1991 batch IPS officer Debasish Panigrahi has been promoted to ADGP rank he will work as ADG (Personnel) at the state Police headquarters.

Similarly, 1998 batch IPS officers Amitabh Thakur, Dayal Gangwar and N B Bharathi have been given in situ promotions to the rank of IG.

While Thakur has been made I G (Southern range), Gangwar has been made IG (State Armed Police). Dev Datt Singh and Ravi Kant, both of 1998 batch have been given proforma promotions.

Singh is serving as DIG in CISF, while Kant is serving as DIG CBI.

While Ganjam SP, 2002 batch IPS Narasingha Bhol has been given in situ promotion to selection grade and same batch IPS officer S Parveen Kumar has been given proforma promotion to selection grade.

Similarly, 2003 batch IPS officer currently serving as Keonjhar S P, Kavita Jalan has been given in situ promotion to selection grade while Shafeen Ahmed and Himanshu Kumar Lal of the same batch have been given proforma promotion.

 

While Ahmed is on inter-cadre deputation, Himanshu Kumar Lal is serving under the Union government.
