The Odisha government today raised reservation quota for SC &ST students seeking admissions in government-run higher education institutions in the state to 38.75% with effect from current 2015-16 academic year, said an official release.

Notably, as per the earlier provisions, 12% seats were reserved for SC students in government-run educational institutions in the state and 8% were reserved for ST students, under the new notification the reservation limit have been increased to 22.5% for SC students and 16.25% for ST students.
The new quota percentage will be applicable in all government-run institutions of higher education - plus two, undergraduate, post-graduate, engineering, medical, technical and other professional courses.
