Bhubaneswar, Jul 19:
The state government in a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary at the state secretariat here today decided to relocate the garbage dumping yard at Bhuasuni in Daruthenga panchayat on the outskirts of the Odisha capital to Tulsadeipur.
The dumping yard will be relocated within a month, officials said.
However, the proposed waste to energy (waste treatment) plant will be set up in Bhuasuni in conformity with the High Court directives, officials added.
“It has been decided to shift the dumping yard from Bhuasuni in view of the public demand. However, the waste to energy plant will be set up there which will solve all problems. The proposed project has the sanction of the High Court. It also has environment clearance. We have taken a decision to set up the plant there and would, therefore, request the public to cooperate in that matter. The dumping yard will be shifted to Tulsadeipur,” said Urban Development Minister Puspendra Singhdeo talking to reporters after the meeting.
“The government has decided to set up the plant at Bhuasuni. They have moved the High Court and if there is any direction from the court we will take a decision in conformity with the law.
