Odisha govt repeals Covid-19 restrictions as daily caseload declines

Bhubaneswar: Covid-19 restrictions earlier imposed following outbreak of the pandemic were repealed in Odisha today by the State government.

Taking to its Twitter handle, state I & PR Department wrote, “Odisha Covid-19 Regulations, 2020, that imposed restrictions and penalties on gatherings, wearing masks, spitting, etc, have been repealed. However, Citizens are advised to follow #Covid appropriate behavior voluntarily, as and when need arises. #StaySafe.”

“In view of the substantial decline of Covid-19 cases in the State over past several months, Government after careful consideration have been pleased to repeal the ‘Odisha Covid-19 Regulations, 2020’ as amended from time to time, with immediate effect. Covid appropriate behavior is advised to be practised voluntarily by citizens as and when found necessary,” a notification issued by state Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) department in this regard mentioned.
