Bhubaneswar, Apr 19:
The district administration of Odisha’s Balasore district today sent back Sujata Panda kin of freedom fighter Laxmi Indira Panda to her hometown-Jeypore.
Sujata after losing contact with her husband and son at the Bhubaneswar railway station had wrongly boarded a Haridwar- bound Utkal Express instead of boarding Hirakhand Express to return to her hometown Jeypore and had landed in Balasore.
However, her son- Babuli Panda still remains untraceable.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today ordered DGP K B Singh to immediately trace Sujata’s son (Laxmi Indira Panda’s grandson).
Patnaik today felicitated good samaritan Debapriya Samal of Balasore , who had rescued Sujata Panda, daughter-in-law of veteran freedom fighter Laxmi Indira Panda on Monday midnight.
Appreciating Samal’s humanitarian nature, the Chief Minister presented him with a memento and said that his inspiring work would encourage others to help people in distress.
It may be recalled here that Sujata Panda and her husband Surendra Panda (son of Laxmi Indira Panda) were invited to Bhubaneswar to be felicitated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Raj Bhawan here on Sunday to commemorate bi-centenary of Paika Rebellion.
