Odisha govt suspends Deputy Collector, Kalahandi for dereliction of duty

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today suspended Anisha Das, Kalahandi Deputy Collector on charges of dereliction of duty. In an order, the Revenue and Disaster Management department said a disciplinary proceeding against Das was contemplated for negligence in discharging the government duties, lack of absolute integrity and dereliction in duty.

The OAS officer has been placed under suspension with immediate effect.

Couple of days back, the government transferred Das who was working as Tahsildar of Betanati in Mayurbhanj district and posted her as Deputy Collector, Collectorate, Kalahandi.

The order further said during the period of her suspension, Das will be at Collectorate, Kalahandi and must not leave the Headquarters without obtaining the prior permission of the District Collector.

Das will be entitled to the payment of subsistence allowance in accordance with Rule-90 of Orissa Service Code, the order mentioned.

During her posting in Mayurbhanj, a truck owner lodged a complaint against four persons, including Das, alleging that they demanded bribe from him.

She denied the allegations but the truck owner submitted an audio clip in support of his claim at Baisingha police station in Mayurbhanj.
