Odisha govt suspends Sarathi Baba’s Chela No 1

Sarat Patra, a close associate of self-styled god man Santosh Raula alias Sarathi Baba, was suspended today from his job as a school teacher on charges of neglecting his duty.

Patra, a Mathematics teacher at Mahanga Birbhadreswar High School, was suspended by the School and Mass Education department for neglecting his duty.

Among the closest associates and followers of Sarathi Baba, Patra was the person who held a press meet here in defense of the  Baba after news broke about his escapades in Hyderabad.

Patra had said the Baba’s followers would take appropriate action against the media houses for airing ‘false reports’ on the Baba.

Patra, along with other followers of Sarathi Baba, had to be rescued by the police to safety on August 5 when members of various women’s organizations gheraoed them while they were holding a press conference at the Rashtra Bhasa Prachar Samiti here. After they were rescued by the police women agitators did not even spare their vehicle, which had a photograph of Sarathi Baba, and spat on it.
