Odisha to process 10 lakh NFSA applications in next 3 days!

Odisha Sun Times Bureau
Bhubaneswar, Feb 25:

Odisha Government officials would need to take a call on inclusion, exclusion and correction of about 10 lakh National Food Security Act (NFSA) applications within next three days, if the order of the Chief Minister is anything to go by.

Naveen NFSA review

With only three more days to go before the month ends, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today held a meeting with district collectors over video conferencing and asked them to complete the National Food Security Act (NFSA) beneficiary roll revision by the end of this month.

As per a press notification issued by the Chief Minister’s office after the meeting, while 21 lakh applications have been received for inclusion, exclusion and correction in the rolls, necessary actions have been taken on only 11 lakh applications so far.

While the press notification didn’t explain how the State Government machinery is going to accomplish the unthinkable in such a short span of time sans errors, Odisha Unit of BJP today took a call to intensify their poster campaign and stir against the irregularities in NFSA beneficiary list preparation.

The decision was taken in a district executive and state executive body meeting that was held for the first time after Basant Panda took over as president.

“The issues of the people of this state are endless. We will take to the streets to highlight their plight. Particularly, the ration card irregularity that we have been protesting against will be given priority. BJP will take an agitational approach and take the issue to every mandal, zone and district of the state. We would also raise the issue in various forums including the upcoming Assembly session,” said Panda.
