Odisha govt to renovate Harekrushna Mahtab State Library, provide Wi-Fi & other facilities to readers

Bhubaneswar: The state government will soon renovate Harekrushna Mahtab State Library located in the capital city here and provide Wi-Fi facility to the readers.

5T Secretary VK Pandian today visited the library and held discussions with the readers.

“Harekrushna Mahtab State Library usually attracts hundreds of students preparing for various competitive examinations. The state government will renovate the library and provide necessary facilities to the readers,” said an official.

The state government has planned to arrange new chairs, tables and other furniture for the library. The books of the library will be preserved with modern technology. Besides, there will be AC facility for the readers, added the official.

“A food court will be opened at the library. Besides, a cafeteria of the Mission Shakti department will come up for the welfare of the students and readers. Steps will be taken for setting up of an Aahar (cheap meal) centre at the library,” he said.

The state government will take the necessary steps to arrange new magazines and books for the students. Eminent personalities from various fields of life would be invited to the library to give motivational talks, he added.

Sources, meanwhile, claimed that the state government has decided to open a new library at Bapuji Nagar. The new library will have food court and other modern facilities, said a source.
