Bhubaneswar: Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) department today ordered Chief District Medical & Public Health Officers (CDM&PHOs) and Directors in Odisha districts to verify the credentials of doctors and specialists engaged in different services provided in public-private partnership (PPP) mode.
Providers of different PPP services have deployed doctors and specialists as per the scope of the contract. However, it is imperative that the credentials of these personnel need to be thoroughly checked from time to time during the tenure of a contract to ensure the engagement of appropriate qualified persons, a circular of the H&FW department mentioned.
Dialysis, CT Scans, MRI, PHC & UPHC Management, and Laboratory Services are presently operational in PPP mode. Hence, contract documents for these services are shared with the officials concerned in 30 districts of the State for proper monitoring and payment. In view of this, the Department ordered to check the credentials of doctors and specialists engaged by the contract agencies.
The deployed doctors and specialists have to remain physically present before respective CDM&PHOs and Directors along with their credentials during the verification process. Compliances thereof may be submitted to the Department within a week, the H&FW notification emphasised.
Worth mentioning that a man identified as 53-year-old Padmanabhan Mukhi, who hails from Jharkhand, was arrested on June 26. The accused was working as a doctor at Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) in Sundargarh district by allegedly submitting fabricated documents.
