Odisha govt urges people to report if COVID-19 symptoms appear

Bhubaneswar: Persons having symptoms of coronavirus must come forward and inform the Health department authorities, urged Odisha government’s Chief Spokesperson on COVID-19 Subroto Bagchi today.

Citing an instance of one of the five COVID-19 patients in Odisha who picked up a call from the authorities after 49 attempts, Bagchi said if someone has symptoms, the concerned person must not get fearful. Cough, fever and difficulties in breathing are some of the symptoms of COVID-19.

By informing the Health authorities immediately about his/her symptoms the concerned person can help others be safe, he added.

People must take care of themselves and follow the guidelines issued by the government.

NHM Director, Shalini Pandit asked people having COVID-19 symptoms to call Health Helpline – 104 and not to visit hospitals on their own.

Till April 2, a total of 900 samples were tested. Of them five were found to be positive for deadly COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the government today said the second COVID-19 patient undergoing treatment at AIIMS in Bhubaneswar has fully recovered and was discharged from the hospital.

As many as 85 persons are under isolation at different hospitals across the State.
